NEW YORK, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Top U.S. refiner Valero Energy Corp.(VLO.N) said Tuesday it was maintaining low gasoline production levels atits refining system because of poor motor fuel demand and profit margins. Stocks "At Valero, we are managing our run rates according to market demand,"Bill Klesse, Valero chairman and chief executive officer, said in thecompany's earnings release. "Across our system, the average utilization rate at our fluid catalyticcracking units is currently in the range of 70 percent to 75 percent ofcapacity," he added. In mid-December, Valero said it was deepening its gasoline output cutsto 70 to 75 percent capacity that month, from a range in the mid-80searlier, saying it would keep to the lower production levels until gasolinemargins recover.
