This year IBC therefore suffered only a mild facelift

The cries of the December high challenge is already far away. This morning, students of high school, if they are thinking about their future, have no doubt much else in mind that the future reform of the school: they spend their bachelor's degree. Some 500,000 of them will wipe casts with the sacrosanct and dreaded test philosophy, kick-off of a school marathon of several weeks. Candidates of the professional sectors more numerous this year and the students of first passing the French Lac not to mushrooming, them, to the task that next Monday. All benefited this year of a stay: tests were postponed one week to allow teachers to course a little longer. A reorganization teaching useful but expensive 16 million euros , the price to pay for teachers simultaneously perform their course and the correction of the copies.

"Monument" Bicentennial

This additional increase an already salted invoice of EUR 34 million: as every year, National Education has established a huge organization (4 million copies, 4,900 subjects...) without having, as neighbouring countries, introduced a dose of continuous control cheaper in the tests. This year, IBC therefore suffered only a mild facelift. Next year, the Minister of Education, Xavier Darcos, has carefully chosen to tackle the task, in engaging on a less minefield: professional education. Its reform is however not anecdotal, term, all students of the die will be graduate in three years instead of four.

At the same time, critics of IBC does not deprive noted the imperfections of this degree, which does really its original objectives. Already more than fifteen years ago that the success rate stagnates 64 per cent of an age class, to the point that the MP UMP the appeared Benoist, author of a recent report on high school, claiming that it revises the objective of "80 to the level of the tray" assigned by Jean-Pierre Chevenement in 1985, for the benefit of a new threshold: 50 of graduates of a licence. French specificity

The issue of orientation, crucial, will be at the heart of the future reform of upper secondary schools. High school students, they have more than a few days to decide: the results will be published on July 7.
